Hyperodapedon huxleyi

Taxonomy
Hyperodapedon huxleyi was named by Lydekker (1881). Its type specimen is GSI 281/1a (lectotype, designated by Chatterjee, 1974), a maxilla (right maxillary tooth plate), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Maleri village (GSI), which is in a Carnian/Norian fluvial claystone in the Maleri Formation of India.

It was recombined as Paradapedon huxleyi by Huene (1940), Chatterjee (1974) and Jain (1990).
