Taxonomy
Copodus minimus was named by Davis (1883). Its type specimen is BMNH P.2511, a set of teeth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Richmond, Yorkshire (BMNH), which is in a Pennsylvanian marine limestone in the United Kingdom.
