Taxonomy
Cyrtonodus hornei was named by Woodward (1889). Its type specimen is BMNH P.4908 (dental plate) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wensleydale, Yorkshire (BMNH), which is in a Pennsylvanian marine limestone in the United Kingdom.
