Taxonomy
Alphadon jasoni was named by Storer (1991). Its type locality is Gryde locality, which is in a Lancian floodplain siltstone in the Frenchman Formation of Canada.

It was recombined as Nortedelphys jasoni by Williamson et al. (2012).

Synonyms
  • Nortedelphys intermedius was named by Case et al. (2004) [original description omits heading of section describing the species (corrected in Case et al. 2005) but is clearly valid under the ICZN]. Its type specimen is UCMP 134776, a tooth (LM3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tedrow Quarry D (Reworked), which is in a Lancian terrestrial horizon in the Hell Creek Formation of Montana.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Alphadon jasoni by Williamson et al. (2012).
