Taxonomy
Hybodus keuperinus was named by Murchison and Strickland (1837). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Burgehill quarry near Eldersfield, which is in a Carnian/Rhaetian marine horizon in the Keuper Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Acrodus keuperinus by Woodward (1889).
