Lydekkerina huxleyi
Taxonomy
Bothriceps huxleyi was named by Lydekker (1889). Its type specimen is BMNH R.507, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Edenburg, which is in an Induan terrestrial horizon in the Katberg Formation of South Africa.
It was recombined as Lydekkerina huxleyi by Broom (1915), Haughton (1925), Parrington (1948), Shishkin et al. (1996), Schoch and Milner (2000), Damiani and Rubidge (2003), Jeannot et al. (2006), Schoch (2013) and Poropat et al. (2023).
