Taxonomy
Parietobalaena campiniana was named by Bisconti et al. (2013). Its type specimen is RBINS M.399-R.4018, a partial skeleton (skull and partial skeleton), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kessel, which is in a Langhian/Serravallian open shallow subtidal sandstone in the Berchem Formation of Belgium.
