Taxonomy
Palaeobates reticulatus was named by Duffin (1998). Its type specimen is CD18, a set of teeth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Microlestes Quarry, Frome, which is in a Rhaetian fissure fill claystone/sandstone in the United Kingdom.
