Taxonomy
Brodiechelys royoi was named by Pérez-García et al. (2014). Its type specimen is CMP-3b/181, a carapace (Partial shell), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Brighstone Bay sauropod, which is in a Hauterivian/Aptian terrestrial horizon in the United Kingdom.
