Escharina is a genus. It is extant.

It was assigned to Cheilostomata by Sepkoski (2002); to Schizoporellidae by Brown (1952), Bassler (1953), Lee et al. (1997), Pouyet (2000) and Schmidt (2003); to Schizoporelloidea by Berning (2006); and to Escharinidae by Bock (2006).

It was synonymized subjectively with Escharina by Bock (2006).
