Bathytheristes gracilis
Taxonomy
Bathytheristes gracilis was named by Duffin (1995). Its type specimen is SMNS 59754, a tooth (left upper ("palatine") toothplate), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gonser quarry, Ohmden (Lias Epsilon II-6), which is in a Falciferum marine shale in the Posidonia Shale Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Bathytheristes.
