Taxonomy
Chimaeropsis foussi was named by Casier (1959). Its type specimen is IRScNB P869, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Northwest of Ethe, which is in a Semicostatum marine sandstone in the Grès d'Orval Formation of Belgium.
