Taxonomy
Eotheroides sandersi was named by Zalmout and Gingerich (2012). Its type specimen is CGM 42181, a partial skeleton (skull and partial skeleton), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is WH-230, which is in a Priabonian marine shale in the Birket Qarun Formation of Egypt.
