Taxonomy
Oppia hurdi was named by Woolley (1971). Its type specimen is UCMP 13045, a nymph, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is UCMP B-7461, Pa-Buchil, Simojovel region, which is in a Miocene terrestrial amber in Mexico.
