Monoceratopora was named by Lang (1916) [Sepkoski's age data: K Turo T Dani-u Sepkoski's reference number: 588,601].

It was assigned to Andrioporidae by Bassler (1953); to Cheilostomata by Sepkoski (2002); and to Cribrilinidae by Bock (2006), Di Martino and Taylor (2013), Håkansson et al. (2024).
