Oxybunotherium praecursor
Taxonomy
Oxybunotherium praecursor was named by Pascual (1965). Its type specimen is M.L.P. 59.II.28.107, a mandible (right mandible fragment with m3 (complete) and m2 (incomplete)), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tobas con mamíferos (Laguna de La Bombilla), which is in a Casamayoran terrestrial tuff in Argentina. It is the type species of Oxybunotherium.
