Lissodus wirksworthensis was named by Duffin (1985). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Steeplehouse Quarry, Bolehill, Wirksworth, which is in an Asbian/Brigantian carbonate limestone/shale in the Cawdor Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Reesodus wirksworthensis by Koot et al. (2013).
