Komlosaurus carbonis

Taxonomy
Komlosaurus carbonis was named by Kordos (1983). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is MAFI V.12692 (Vt. 88.), a footprint (slab with two positive imprints), and it is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Pécs-Vasas II mine, which is in a Sinemurian terrestrial sandstone in the Mecsek Coal Formation of Hungary. It is the type species of Komlosaurus.

A. Osi et al. 2011(based on the type material, supplemented by 102 tracks of 21 trackways of slabs PB1 and PB2): functionally tridactyl tracks of a biped with the following combination of traits: foot length/width ratio lower than 2.0; digit impressions slender and elongate (compared to Grallator and Kayentapus); digit impressions frequently curved; digit divarication angles high with an average angle of 72◦ between digits II and IV; metatarsal pad and hallux impressions frequent; metatarsal impression confluent with proximal digit impressions.
