Eurypholis longidens was named by Pictet (1850). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sach el Aalma (Boissier collection), which is in a Santonian carbonate lime mudstone in Lebanon.
It was recombined as Enchodus longidens by Woodward (1901).
