Taxonomy
Bairdia ponderosa was named by Chen (1958). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is AV-47, Guanshan Section, Longtan, Nanjing City, which is in a Kungurian carbonate limestone in the Qixia Formation of China.
It was recombined as Orthobairdia ponderosa by Chen and Bao (1986).
