Taxonomy
Eudiscoceras gabbi was named by Meek (1877). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cottonwood Canon, West Humboldt Range, which is in an Illyrian/Fassanian carbonate limestone in Nevada. It is the type species of Eudiscoceras.
It was recombined as Ceratites (Paraceratites) gabbi by Smith (1914).
