Taxonomy
Schizambon was named by Walcott (1884). Its type is Schizambon typicalis.

It was assigned to Siphonotretidae by Raymond (1911), Williams et al. (2000) and Popov et al. (2002); and to Acrotretida by Sepkoski (2002).
