Taxonomy
Proptychites magnumbilicatus was named by Waagen (1895). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chitta-Wan near Ghari, upper Ceratite Marls, Salt Range, which is in a Dienerian carbonate marl in the Ceratite Marls Formation of Pakistan.
