Taxonomy
Trimerella was named by Billings (1862) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov-l S Ludl-l Sepkoski's reference number: 1,1066]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Trimerellidae.

It was assigned to Trimerellidae by Jaanuson (1966), Williams et al. (2000); and to Trimerellida by Sepkoski (2002).
