Turbo subcinctus was named by d'Orbigny (1850).

It was recombined as Homalopoma (Boutillieria) subcinctum by Haas (1953).

Synonyms
  • Homalopoma cimana was named by Cox (1949). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is La Cima, Cerro de Pasco, which is in a Norian shallow subtidal limestone in Peru.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Homalopoma (Boutillieria) subcinctum by Haas (1953).
