Taxonomy
Ulrichotrypa tenuis was named by Ernst and Gorgij (2013). Its type specimen is USB2218-13 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USB2218-13, Sang-Variz section, Halvan, which is in a Sakmarian carbonate limestone in the Chili Formation of Iran.
