Taxonomy
Astrapotherium christi was named by Stehlin (1928). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Quebrada Honda - Zaraza, which is in a Santacrucian terrestrial sandstone/marl in Venezuela. It is the type species of Xenastrapotherium.
It was recombined as Xenastrapotherium christi by Kraglievich (1928).
