Indusia tubulosa was named by Bosc (1805). It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Summit of Saint-Gérand-le-Puy, which is in an Aquitanian lacustrine - large limestone in the Indusial Limestone Formation of France.
