Leptoptygma oligospira
Taxonomy
Loxonema oligospira was named by Winchell (1863). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Prospect Hill, bluff above river south of Burlington, which is in a Famennian marine sandstone in the English River Formation of Iowa.
It was recombined as Holopea oligospira by Girty (1915) and Yochelson and Saunders (1967); it was recombined as Leptoptygma oligospira by Wagner (2023).
