Taxonomy
Anthracoscorpio dunlopi was named by Pocock (1911). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Longriggend, Airdrie, which is in a Westphalian A terrestrial shale in the Drumgray Coal Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Eoscorpius dunlopi by Petrunkevitch (1949), Petrunkevitch (1953).
