Leptotarbus torpedo
Taxonomy
Geraphrynus torpedo was named by Pocock (1911). Its type specimen is BMNH In. 31242 and is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Coseley, near Dudley (Egginton coll), which is in a Westphalian B interdistributary bay shale in the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Leptotarbus.
It was recombined as Leptotarbus torpedo by Petrunkevitch (1945), Petrunkevitch (1949), Petrunkevitch (1953) and Dunlop et al. (2013).
