Pleurotomaria blanda was named by de Koninck (1851). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Ptychomphalina blandus by de Koninck (1883); it was recombined as Portlockia blanda by Weir (1925); it was recombined as Portlockiella blanda by Wagner (2023).
