Taxonomy
Bellerophon harrodi was named by Gurley (1883) [Bellerophon Harrodi]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Upper Coal Measures near Oakwood, which is in a Missourian carbonate limestone in the Sturgis Formation of Illinois.
It was synonymized subjectively with Bellerophon (Pharkidonotus) percarinatus by Yochelson and Saunders (1967); it was recombined as Pharkidonotus harrodi by Wagner (2023).
