Taxonomy
Geyerella was named by Schellwien (1900) [Sepkoski's age data: P l P Guad-u Sepkoski's reference number: 7]. It is not extant. Its type is Geyerella gemmellaroi.

It was assigned to Meekellinae by Williams et al. (2000); and to Strophomenida by Sepkoski (2002).
