Taxonomy
Megamyonia was named by Wang (1949) [Sepkoski's age data: O Cara-u O Ashg-l Sepkoski's reference number: 764]. It is not extant. Its type is Megamyonia knighti.

It was assigned to Strophomenidae by Macomber (1970); to Rafinesquininae by Williams et al. (2000); to Strophomenida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Furcitellinae by Congreve et al. (2019).
