Minerisporites laceratus was named by Archangelsky and Villar de Seoane (1990). It is not extant. Its type locality is NF Basal, Anfiteatro de Tico, Santa Cruz Province, Argentina, which is in the Barremian/Aptian of volcaniclastic the Baquero Formation Argentina.
