Nudauris was named by Stehli (1954) [Sepkoski's age data: P Asse-l P Leon-u Sepkoski's reference number: 7,963]. Its type is Nudauris diabloensis.
It was assigned to Paucispiniferini by Williams et al. (2000); to Strophomenida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Rugatiini by Lazarev (2011).
