Taxonomy
Hunanonectes was named by Fang (1978). Its type is Camptonectes (Hunanonectes) sanduensis.

It was reranked as Camptonectes (Hunanonectes) by Chen (1982); it was synonymized subjectively with Radulonectites by Ros-Franch et al. (2014).

It was assigned to Camptonectes by Chen (1982); and to Pectinidae by Fang (1978), Stiller (2006) and Fang et al. (2009).
