Microphyllopteris unisora was named by Cantrill and Nagalingum (2005) [Diagnosis: Secondary pinnae opposite to sub-opposite; sterile secondary pinnae orientated at 528–908, fertile secondary pinnae at 478–708 to the primary rachis. Secondary rachises 1–3 mm apart. All pinnules alternately arranged, almost all at 908 to the secondary rachis. Pinnules wide oblong to semi-circular, bases not constricted, apices obtuse and broadly rounded. Fertile pinnules smaller than sterile pinnules; one central or distally offset sorus per pinnule. Sori circular or elliptic.]. It is not extant. Its type specimen is Fern, a plant debris.
