Stylocynus paranensis

Taxonomy
Stylocynus paranensis was named by Mercerat (1917). Its type specimen is MLP 11-94, a mandible (left mandibular ramus, originally with alveoli of incisors and c, p1-2 present but broken, roots of p3-m1, base of m2, and m3-4 complete; broken between 1927 an), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Barrancas del Rio Parana, which is in a Tortonian marginal marine siltstone/sandstone in the Entre Rios Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Stylocynus.
