Taxonomy
Inoceramus elegantula was named by Johnston (1887). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Porter's Hill (Johnston coll), which is in a Sakmarian marine siliciclastic in the Bundella Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Ingelarella elegantula by Crespin (1964).
