Protolipterna ellipsodontoides
Taxonomy
Protolipterna ellipsodontoides was named by Cifelli (1983). Its type specimen is DNPM LE444A, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is São José de Itaborai, which is in an Eocene fissure fill marl in the Itaboraí Formation of Brazil. It is the type species of Protolipterna.
