Taxonomy
Teguliferina was named by Schuchert and LeVene (1929) [Sepkoski's age data: C Mosc-u P Leon-m Sepkoski's reference number: 7,1066]. Its type is Tegulifera deformis. It is the type genus of Teguliferinidae.

It was assigned to Teguliferinidae by Muir-Wood and Cooper (1960); to Teguliferininae by Williams et al. (2000); and to Strophomenida by Sepkoski (2002).
