Taxonomy
Echinopustulus samuelnelsoni was named by Dunlop (2004). Its type specimen is YPM 204165, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Possibly near Windsor, which is in a Westphalian D interdistributary bay shale in Missouri. It is the type species of Echinopustulus.
