Immaturity of the holotype is evident from lack of neurocentral fusion across the axial series except in distal caudals
Taxonomy
Siats meekerorum was named by Zanno and Makovicky (2013). Its type specimen is FMNH PR 2716, a set of postcrania (partial postcranial skeleton of immature individual including portions of the axial column, pelvic girdle and hind limb), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lindsay's Site, which is in a Cenomanian estuary/bay mudstone in the Cedar Mountain Formation of Utah.
