Colobodus giganteus
Taxonomy
Perleidus giganteus was named by Beltan (1972). Its type specimen is M104a-b, a skeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Montral and Alcover Quarries (MA), which is in a Ladinian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal dolomite in the Muschelkalk Formation of Spain.
It was recombined as Colobodus giganteus by Lombardo (2001).
