Archaeosemionotus connectens
Taxonomy
Archaeosemionotus connectens was named by Deecke (1889). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Quarry between Varenna and Regoledo, Perledo (SMF collection), which is in a Longobardian marine limestone in the Perledo-Varenna Formation of Italy. It is the type species of Archaeosemionotus.
It was synonymized subjectively with Semionotus balsami by de Alessandri (1910); it was synonymized subjectively with Archaeosemionotus balsami by Tintori and Lombardo (2007).
