Taxonomy
Eugnathus brachilepis was named by Bassani (1895). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Giffoni Valle Piana, Salerno, which is in an Alaunian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in the Dolomia Principale Formation of Italy.
