Taxonomy
Leiorhynchoidea was named by Cloud (1944) [Sepkoski's age data: C Tour-l P Guad-u Sepkoski's reference number: 7,400].

It was assigned to Petasmariidae by Williams et al. (2002); and to Rhynchonellida by Sepkoski (2002).
