Walkerithyris mendax
Taxonomy
Walkerithyris mendax was named by Cox and Middlemiss (1978). Its type specimen is BM BB76234, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CBPsl, Chamberlain Barn [Shenley Limestone, Lower Greensand], which is in an Albian marine carbonate in the Munday’s Hill Phosphatic Sandstone Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Walkerithyris.
